don’t be alarmed

It’s a good thing this several million light-year spanning fireball is nowhere near us. Makes you think, though – if it was indeed anywhere near the solar system we’d just be done for and that would be that.

To put the size of this thing in perspective (if that’s at all possible) the sun’s light takes a few minutes to reach earth. This fireball is so big that it would take light three million years to get from one side to the other.
