for sure

Today is Toby’s second full day in pre-school class. He’s been visiting the class for a couple of hours each day for the last few weeks, and I think he’s doing OK. It’s a bit strange to drop him off though – the age range is much wider than what he’s had before, with one of the girls being around four and a half (Toby’s going to be three in January). I think he can hold his own pretty well and he’s a really good communicator so he should be fine, but he looks suddenly very small and young.

So as he left his former class we were given a few things that he doesn’t need any more. One of them was a tube of diaper rash ointment, which back home Emma put on his changing table next to a similar tube we had for home use, which hasn’t been opened in months. But he knows what they are for – last night as I was getting him ready for bed he picked up one tube and, “reading” the label said, “This one says ‘No Ow-ies’” [that's a strangely hard word to spell], then picked up the other one: “And this one says ‘No Ow-ies’. ‘At All’”.
