from my childhood

My brother Richard sent me this link a couple of days ago – the house we grew up in is on the market in Aberdeen. It’s really odd to see it described in such non-emotional terms. I was there from when I was 6 to when I left for university, and we as a family moved out when I was about 25 or 26. So lots of memories. In particular doing things in the garden – playing with my brothers, playing with our dog, looking after the cats, getting exam results, coming home from vacations, mealtimes, playing on our computers, my brother recovering from getting his tonsils out, extended families visiting for Christmas and New Year, going to school.

Sounds like the latest owners have done some nice things with doing the hardwood floors. It was all carpets when we were there, my parents must have spent a fortune! I hope the new owners appreciate it and the history it has.
